'A lot of focus and grit': Reds' Alex Blandino wins hilarious anthem stand-off before game

The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win before their first pitch against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday at PNC Park.

Reds infielder Alex Blandino and Pittsburgh pitcher Luis Oviedo were locked into a pre-game stand-off in front of their dugouts following the rendition of the national anthem. Blandino held his pose for several minutes as his teammates cheered him on from the dugout.

Blandino and Oviedo both held their hats over their hearts as the Pirates took the field to begin warming up for the top of the first inning. Neither dared to move. Ovideo cracked into a few laughs as Blandino stared ahead.
