'A literal dream come true': Reds add Phillip Diehl, a Cincinnati native, to bullpen

Phillip Diehl spent a road trip on the Cincinnati Reds' taxi squad last season, but now he should finally have an opportunity to pitch for his hometown team.

Diehl, a Moeller grad who still lives in Cincinnati, was called up from Triple-A Louisville before Wednesday's game against the San Diego Padres. The Reds placed Justin Wilson on the 10-day Injured List with left elbow soreness, so Diehl will be the only lefty in the Reds' bullpen. The Reds had an open slot on their 40-man roster for Diehl after they designated infielder JT Riddle for assignment on Tuesday.
