'A beautiful thing to watch': Inside Jesse Winker's 12-game hitting streak, dominant April

There were a lot of highlight moments during Jesse Winker’s 12-game hitting streak, the longest in the Major Leagues, before it ended Wednesday.

Winker hit the go-ahead, two-run homer in the 10th inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. There was the game-tying RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning against Cleveland. He had a two-homer game last week.

During the 12-game hitting streak, Winker hit .389 with five homers, three doubles and 12 RBI. He scored 10 runs and had a .431 on-base percentage during the stretch.

“It’s a beautiful thing to watch when someone is locked in like that and completely in the moment,” Reds manager David Bell said.
