The Cincinnati Reds finally broke through this past season and made it back to the MLB playoffs. Unfortunately, it was one-and-done for the ole Redlegs as they ran into a buzzsaw known as the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Reds, however, have something to build on heading into next season.
Nevertheless, Cincinnati's roster is still incomplete. While the Reds have a top-tier starting rotation, a bona fide superstar in Elly De La Cruz, and addressed the infield defense with the addition of Ke'Bryan Hayes at the July 31 deadline, Cincinnati is still lacking a consistent outfield bat.
Shifting Noelvi Marte from third base to right field — a move that looks good on the surface — only fixes half the problem.
