Howard is visiting with the Bengals today and is expected to sign with the team, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
A move at tight end was expected after the Bengals released their 53-man roster on Tuesday afternoon. The team is thin at the position with both Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox currently dealing with injuries. The Bengals signed tight end Hayden Hurst in free agency this offseason and he'll enter Week 1 as the starter regardless of the addition of Howard.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said Sample is progressing well in his rehab but Wilcox remains a bit of a question mark.
