Trey Hendrickson, in his first season as a defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals, is doing everything in his power Sunday against the Lions in Detroit to prove that the Bengals made the right call selecting receiver Ja'Marr Chase over offensive lineman Penei Sewell early in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Sewell had the unenviable task throughout the first half of trying to stop Hendrickson. Sewell had a false-start penalty and a holding penalty, and Hendrickson recorded a sack (and almost had another one on a tackle of Lions quarterback Jared Goff near the line of scrimmage toward the end of the second quarter) to boost his season total to 5.
