Enquirer beat writers Paul Dehner Jr. and Fletcher Page breakdown the Bengals win over the Raiders in the final home game of the season. Sam Greene, sgreene@enquirer.com
What the Cincinnati Bengals wanted to be is not what they are. Their 30-16 win over the lamentable and mundane Oakland Raiders was sometimes sloppy and unfocused (nine penalties). The quarterback, Jeff Driskel, was barely adequate. A 51.3 rating doesn’t win a lot of games.
Marvin Lewis praised the cliched intangibles – “digging deep’’, “finding a way’’ etc. – because other than Joe Mixon, the cliched tangibles were satisfactory at best.
