Notes: Green returns; Sims out again; Dalton, Flacco tough in September

As Chip Diller via Kevin Bacon declared at the end of Animal House, “Remain calm.”

Pro Bowl wide receiver A.J. Green (knee) returned to the field Thursday morning and participated in the early part of practice after sitting out Wednesday. Defensive tackle Pat Sims (hip) didn’t work for the second straight day and that could mean Brandon Thompson plays in his first game of the season Sunday (1 p.m.-Cincinnati’s Channel 12) in Baltimore.

SLANTS AND SCREENS: The Ravens are 8-1 in their last nine home openers with the Bengals’ 23-16 victory last season the only blemish.
