Joe Burrow’s Heisman Trophy speech led to a massive haul of charitable donations to the Athens County Food Pantry – and the giving hasn’t stopped.
The Jeff Ruby Foundation will present a check for $10,000 to the Athens County Food Pantry, the foundation announced on Monday. The $10,000 contribution is from the sale of the restaurant’s Steak Burrow in honor of the presumptive No. 1 overall pick and Athens native.
Jeff Ruby created the steak earlier this year and served it at Jeff Ruby Steakhouses in Cincinnati and Columbus. According to the Jeff Ruby Foundation, the steak was the best-selling promotional item on the menu, selling more than 500 entrees in Columbus and more than 450 entrees in Cincinnati during the limited time it was offered.
