Josh Newton might not be an established player on the Cincinnati Bengals right now, but he could be getting there very soon.
The second-year CB gathered up the courage to reach out to superstar QB Joe Burrow and ask him to watch film with him. But he did it strategically.
In the clip below from The Growler Podcast, Newton said, “If you wanna be great, you gotta approach the greats.”
Newton thinks the way you start the conversation is important. “You can’t tiptoe,” he said. “That’s why they don’t respect you.”
He then said you have to know what you want and be specific and direct.
