Grade the Pick: Bengals double up at linebacker with Clemson’s Barrett Carter

The Cincinnati Bengals are continuing to spend a lot of draft capital on defense. In the fourth round early Saturday afternoon, they drafted Clemson Tigers linebacker Barrett Carter at pick No. 119 overall.

Carter is the second linebacker the Bengals have drafted this weekend, joining South Carolina linebacker Demetrius Knight Jr. in the second round at pick No. 49.

Overall, this is a good pick by the Bengals. The big rationale for drafting Knight was the imminent departure of Germaine Pratt, who has been with the Bengals since 2019.

But also remember that Akeem Davis-Gaither left in free agency this offseason for the Arizona Cardinals.
