With their second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Bengals struck gold. Drafting Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon, the Bengals were one of several teams that found their backfield star that offseason.
Having rushed for the most yards in the AFC just two seasons ago, Mixon, who was running behind arguably the league’s worst offensive line last season, still recorded 1,424 yards from scrimmage and his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season.
Since he’s come into the league, he’s shown an ability to make something from nothing. Toward the back half of 2019, after a slow start, he was seemingly the only real weapon for this offense that stalled after almost every trip onto the field.
