GM Veach: Bengals banked on Chiefs' biggest weakness - themselves - in AFC Championship

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach talked to reporters Tuesday about the team's AFC Championship collapse against the Bengals in Kansas City.

The Chiefs led 21-3 late in the first half before Samaje Perine scored the Bengals' first touchdown of the game.

Bengals defensive back Eli Apple made a key defensive stop just before halftime, B.J. Hill and Vonn Bell intercepted Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Cincinnati scored 21 unanswered points in a 27-24 overtime win.

"I think (the Bengals') equation was the Chiefs' biggest weakness is themselves, so let’s just bank on them being a little bit aggressive and impatient," Veach told reporters.
