Fumbles by Bengals' Gio Bernard, Trayveon Williams give Dallas Cowboys early 10-0 lead

When running back Giovani Bernard fumbled on the Cincinnati Bengals' opening drive Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, it snapped the NFL's longest active streak without a fumble - 829 consecutive attempts.

The fumble gave favorable field position to Andy Dalton - Bernard's teammate in Cincinnati from 2013 to 2019 - and the Cowboys, which ended up with a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead.

Trayveon Williams was in the game at running back for the Bengals on their first drive after the Cowboys' field goal. Williams' fumble was returned 78 yards by the Cowboys' Aldon Smith, and the Bengals were down 10-0 in the first quarter.
