Email: Bengals trainer sought to evade scrutiny of NFL 'pill counters'

WashingtonPost.com published an article Thursday night ("NFL abuse of painkillers and other drugs described in court filings") based on "sealed court documents contained in a federal lawsuit filed by former players," which Post reporters reviewed.

The class-action lawsuit, which more than 1,800 former players filed against the National Football League over the use and abuse of painkilling medication, has been working its way through the legal system since 2015.

The Post wrote that, "National Football League teams violated federal laws governing prescription drugs, disregarded guidance from the Drug Enforcement Administration on how to store, track, transport and distribute controlled substances, and plied their players with powerful painkillers and anti-inflammatories each season, according to sealed court documents contained in a federal lawsuit filed by former players.
