The Cincinnati Bengals have placed Renell Wren on injured reserve. In a corresponding move, the team activated John Ross, who was on the NFL’s Reserve/COVID-19 list.
Wren, a second-year player, suffered a right quad injury in practice on Aug. 17 that led to him being carted off the practice field. It became apparent early on that his season was already over, which is a brutal break for the second-year defensive tackle.
A 2019 fourth-round pick, Wren had just come off the NFI list when he was injured in practice last week.
