CINCINNATI -- Last week, the Cincinnati Bengals surprised the football world when they signed coach Marvin Lewis to a one-year extension that will take him through the 2016 season.

Based on previous comments made by team president Mike Brown, an extension this offseason didn't seem as big a priority as it apparently was.
