Bengals first-string defense looks to rebound after rough outing in Kansas City

If Saturday night was barometer to see how the Bengals’ defense stacks up against elite offenses, the reading was low.

Patrick Mahomes made easy work of a Cincinnati defense missing key cogs like Geno Atkins and William Jackson III. There was hardly any defensive resistance. Mahomes was 4-of-4 passing for 66 yards, resulting in a 118.8 passer rating. One of his passes was the best throw of the evening, a 36-yard ball that was on a rope to tight end Travis Kelce. The quick and easy touchdown-drive was done in seven plays and covered 83 yards in a span of 3 minutes in 47 seconds.
