Bengals become first NFL team since 2013 to lose fumbles on first three possessions

Fumbles by Giovani Bernard, Trayveon Williams and Alex Erickson made the Cincinnati Bengals the first NFL team since the New England Patriots on Nov. 24, 2013 to lose fumbles on their first three possessions of a game.

The Dallas Cowboys capitalized, taking a 17-0 lead in the second quarter with Andy Dalton's 11-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper.

When Bernard fumbled on the Bengals' opening drive, it snapped the NFL's longest active streak without a fumble - 829 consecutive attempts.

The fumble gave favorable field position to Dalton - Bernard's teammate in Cincinnati from 2013 to 2019 - and the Cowboys, which ended up with a field goal to take an early 3-0 lead.
