Assessing the value Bengals got in Tyler Shelvin

With the 122nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected LSU defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin.

After playing sparingly in his first two seasons in Baton Rouge, the 6-3, 350-pound mammoth of a man broke out in 2019 during the Tigers’ title run alongside current Bengals Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase. Shelvin would start 14/15 games while registering 39 tackles, three tackles for losses and two pass breakups.

However, Shelvin decided to opt out of the 2020 season after being projected by some as a Day 2 pick in 2021.
