Andy Dalton audibled out of a play he didn't like during the Cincinnati Bengals' preseason opener, which has Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson happy.
"A lot of people say that's a negative," Jackson told Coley Harvey of ESPN. "That's a positive to me. That's where you want your quarterback to be. That's the kind of relationship that you want to have with him where he can feel comfortable and say, 'Not that one.'"
Dalton is taking on more of a leadership role at Bengals camp.
"This is his offense," Jackson told ESPN. "We create a lot of synergy among our players and our group by giving them that kind of trust and that kind of responsibility."
