What's next for UConn's AAC exit? A look back at what Louisville and Rutgers had to do

Fletcher Page, fpage@enquirer..com

The school's Board of Trustees unanimously voted earlier this week to return to the Big East beginning in July 2020 in all sports other than football and hockey.

That timeline falls well short of the American's bylaws requiring member schools to provide 27-month notification to the conference before exiting. If UConn left after 27 months, it would be expected to pay a $10 million exit fee.

How much money will be paid or what will be UConn's response given the waiting period will be roughly 12 months?

UConn isn't the first school to face this issue.
