The University of Cincinnati showed it is far and away the best Group of 5 team in the country Saturday night against the Southern Methodist University Mustangs.
The No. 9/10 (Associated Press/Coaches polls) Bearcats got a career day from junior quarterback Desmond Ridder and passed their first road test of the season, routing No. 16 SMU 42-13 Saturday night.
"I'm most proud of how these guys have handled the last two and a half weeks, as well as how they handled a lot of adverse things that happened on the field tonight," Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell said.
