What we learned: No. 7 Cincinnati Bearcats got exactly what they wanted: 'Redemption'

Desmond Ridder did it again.

The University of Cincinnati junior quarterback had his second straight stellar performance and the No. 7 Bearcats (both Associated Press/Coaches polls) got "redemption," defeating Memphis 49-10 Saturday at Nippert Stadium.

Cincinnati (5-0, 2-0 American Athletic Conference) ended a five-game losing streak to the Tigers, who beat the Bearcats twice in eight days last season.

One of the losses was in the AAC championship game and kept UC from ending the pre-bowl season as the highest-ranked Group of Five team and thus out of the Cotton Bowl Classic.

"Revenge is not something we talked about because revenge is kind of a negative term," Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell said.
