WEST HARRISON, Indiana – Cincinnati football's specific preparations for UCLA and the season-opener are imminent.
The Bearcats essentially put a wrap on training camp Saturday with a final scrimmage at Higher Ground and will return to campus later this week. They play the Bruins August 29 in Nippert Stadium.
Here's what we learned during the scrimmage:
• Quarterback Desmond Ridder and the first-team offense had a few bright moments, including a short Michael Warren touchdown plunge and a 15-yard scoring pass from Ridder to tight end Bruno Labelle.
