Well that was easy.
Cincinnati (21-2, 10-0 American) beat Connecticut (10-12, 5-5 American) 82-68 in front of a sellout crowd at Fifth Third Arena on Saturday afternoon. The game wasn’t as close as the final score would indicate.
Even with Connecticut in the midst of their worst season since 86-87, Bearcats fans can be forgiven for expecting Saturday’s game to be a nail-biting battle of epic proportions. This is the same program Cincinnati fought in a four-overtime thriller in last season’s AAC tournament. Instead, Cincinnati led by as much as 26 points, and fans were chanting ‘We Want Tobler’ around the ten minute mark of the second half.
