Walnut Hills girls basketball hands Loveland 1st league basketball loss

WALNUT HILLS - Minus the top scorer in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, the Walnut Hills High School girls basketball team still was able to deal Loveland their first league loss Saturday afternoon.

With Sean Kelly Darks in concussion protocol, coach Adam Lazar's Eagles relied on senior Darian Burgin who popped in 23 points in the 68-58 home court triumph.

Lazar called the win one of the best he's had at Walnut Hills.

"We are missing one of our best players," Lazar said. "I'm just so proud of my girls. They were so tough today mentally, physically.
