This week, John Brannen met with Jarron Cumberland to discuss how to save Cumberland’s senior season.
After a one-game suspension, a hip injury and Cumberland’s worst three-game scoring stretch since 2017, the University of Cincinnati head coach and star guard needed to figure it out. So they discussed Cumberland putting in extra work, getting in better shape and moving back into the lead guard role in the offense.
The result was a late-game masterpiece by Cumberland in Cincinnati’s 78-66 upset over No. 21 Tennessee on Wednesday.
