The University of Cincinnati announced a settlement agreement Thursday with former Bearcats men's basketball head coach John Brannen.
"John Brannen and the University of Cincinnati have reached an amicable resolution. Both parties look forward to putting this matter behind them and focusing on the future," the statement from UC's department of athletics read.
The Enquirer's Keith Jenkins reported in May 2021 that when UC fired Brannen, it accused the coach of using methods of intimidation against players and making payment of special benefits for an unnamed player. UC also accused Brannen of jeopardizing or disregarding the well-being, health and safety of his players, according to documents obtained by The Enquirer.
