Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball coach John Brannen has pledged to fund an initiative that helps minorities start their careers and build their professional network.
Brannen and the University of Cincinnati announced Friday that Brannen, who is entering his second season at UC, will participate in the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative, named after Hall of Fame basketball coach John McLendon.
Participants in the initiative will be known as MLI Future Leaders.
Brannen is funding an MLI Future Leader position in the UC athletics department, while Cincinnati Bell is providing matching funds in each of the next four years.
