ANNAPOLIS, Maryland - A little over three years after a Christmas Eve lump of coal in their last bowl appearance (2015 vs. San Diego State in Hawaii), the University of Cincinnati delivered a New Year's Eve gift to Bearcat fans holding off Virginia Tech 35-31.
Michael Warren II was named Military Bowl MVP with 166 yards rushing and two touchdowns, the last coming with 1:29 to go as the former Ohio Mr. Football wiggled into the end zone. Virginia Tech had a final drive snuffed out when James Wiggins picked off Ryan Willis to seal the deal.
The game was particularly sweet for senior Hayden Moore.
