Terry Nelson cannot believe it has been 25 years since he and his University of Cincinnati men’s basketball teammates reached the NCAA Final Four. Nelson also cannot believe UC has not returned since.
UC will honor its 1992 Final Four team when the 2017 Bearcats play UConn on Saturday at Fifth Third Arena (4 p.m.). Nelson, now executive director of the UC “C-Club” (athletic alumni), helped organize this weekend’s reunion.
“It’s been 25 years, and hopefully we can get back this year,” Nelson said Friday. “It was a brotherhood with our team. I see a lot of similarities with this team, of how we enjoyed each other and loved each other.
