The University of Cincinnati is dumping Adidas gear in anticipation of the official beginning of their contract with Under Armour on July 1st.
The Bearcats signed with the growing apparel manufacturer on April 2nd, marking the end of a 10-year agreement with Adidas that for the most part provided advantageous for UC. But UA appeared to simply outbid the existing partner and potentially offer additional perks such as hiring some students from Cincinnati’s DAAP program. Overall, the package Under Armour was offering, worth $4.7 million per year, was far too generous a deal for UC to pass up.
