A big Nippert Stadium crowd of 35,736 was all tucked in for football fun Saturday night, the first University of Cincinnati home game in a month.
Crisp autumn night. Ideal football weather. Then came the game, a disappointing 38-21 loss to 3-point underdog Marshall.
It was also not quite that close, as Marshall roared to a 24-0 halftime lead. That made the second half a matter of just mopping up, with the stadium emptying rapidly. By game's end, green-shirted Marshall spectators appeared to outnumber UC fans.
UC (2-3) lost for the second straight week.
