The Cincinnati Bearcats could not have picked a much tougher opponent for the first of two preseason basketball exhibition games.
UC will visit NCAA Division II power Bellarmine on Wednesday (7 p.m.) at Freedom Hall in Louisville. Bellarmine is ranked No. 3 nationally in the D-II preseason Basketball Times poll, and comes off its fourth Final Four appearance in seven years. That includes a national championship in 2011.
UC is ranked 13th nationally in the USA Today Coaches preseason Division I poll.
