University of Cincinnati Bearcats fans were relieved to see receiver Alec Pierce return to Saturday's game against the Memphis Tigers at Nippert Stadium after Pierce sat out one series following his outstanding touchdown catch in the first quarter.
Pierce returned from a knee injury to make his season debut in last week's rout of SMU. He had three catches for 22 yards. UC's leading receiver in yardage in 2019 was expected to miss several weeks of this season, but he missed just the first three games.
Pierce entered the medical tent during the second quarter with an apparent arm injury after trying to catch a pass from quarterback Desmond Ridder.
