Bearcats show depth in rout of Bellarmine/ Tom Groeschen
The University of Cincinnati will welcome home a local boy Sunday, when the Bearcats face Division II team Embry-Riddle (Daytona Beach, Florida) in a men’s basketball exhibition game at Northern Kentucky University’s BB&T Arena at 2 p.m.
Embry-Riddle is coached by former Bellevue High School standout player Steve Ridder. The 58-year-old Ridder was one of the top players in Bellevue history, leading the Tigers to the Ninth Region semifinals in 1976. Ridder later played at Berea College (Ky.), and he has been head coach at Embry-Riddle since the 1989-90 season.
