It had been two months since the University of Cincinnati men’s basketball team lost a game. It seemed that streak would continue Sunday, until a second-half meltdown in a 60-51 loss at SMU.
Four minutes into the second half, UC led 40-31. Then came a 15-0 SMU surge that shot the Mustangs into a 46-40 lead. Overall, SMU made a 25-3 run to take control.
The SMU crowd, which included former President George W. Bush, also played its usual part with plenty of noise. The Mustangs are now 15-0 at home this season, and all UC could do was fly home afterward and regroup.
