The elephant in the room this week is Gunner Kiel’s health status as UC approaches the ultra critical road game against Memphis on Thursday night, one that may very well decide Cincinnati’s AAC and Access Bowl fate. Tommy Tuberville was quick to address the matter in his weekly press conference, proclaiming that his star quarterback might play against the Tigers. He practiced a little be on Monday and is still day-to-day. Thankfully Kiel didn’t suffer a concussion against the Redhawks, they went through all of the necessary protocol, it was a shoulder issue (not the rotator cuff), and apparently he could have returned to the Miami (OH) game but the coaches held him out due to precautionary reasons.
