The All-Star Break is officially over today in the MLB, but here at Down the Drive, we still want to take the time to think back to the last Bearcat to be named a MLB All-Star.
It's hard to believe that there hasn't been an MLB All-Star from the University of Cincinnati since Kevin Youkilis. The homegrown talent from Sycamore high school dominated for the Bearcats back in 2001 where he hit .405 with 18 home runs and 61 RBI's. Despite Youkilis's numbers in college, he was still only drafted in the 8th round of the 2001 draft because scouts said that he had a "defected" swing.
