With University of Miami defensive coordinator Manny Diaz expected to leave the Hurricanes - according to multiple reports - to become head coach of the Temple Owls, miamiherald.com's Barry Jackson reports that former University of Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Tommy Tuberville is believed to have interest in succeeding Diaz.
Tuberville has history with UM: He was the Hurricanes' defensive coordinator in 1993 and was an assistant with the team from 1986 to 1992.
Tuberville has worked as an ESPN analyst, and doing ABC/ESPN color commentary/analysis for a Texas Tech-Houston game was awkward after Tuberville reportedly compared Lubbock earlier this year to Siberia and Iraq.
