MEMPHIS – Cincinnati football will have a new starting quarterback Friday at No. 17 Memphis.
Ben Bryant will start for the No. 18 Bearcats in place of Des Ridder, who has played through a shoulder injury in recent weeks.
A redshirt freshman from La Grange, Ill., Bryant is 6 of 12 for 138 yards passing this season. Ridder, a redshirt sophomore who previously had started 24 straight games, passed for 78 and 62 yards in UC's past two games against USF and Temple, respectively, with no passing or rushing touchdowns.
