West Virginia University and Marshall University have an in-state basketball rivalry dating back to 1929, so the fact that they're meeting in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32 is a special occasion for the state even without the fuel that was added to the fire in 2014.
That's when it got ugly between Mountaineers (and former UC Bearcats) head coach Bob Huggins and Thundering Herd head coach Dan D'Antoni. D'Antoni suggested that WVU was "afraid" to schedule Marshall.
