Mississippi State transfer Abdul Ado commits to UC, gives Bearcats 13 scholarship players

New University of Cincinnati men's basketball coach Wes Miller on Tuesday secured his 13th and final scholarship player for the 2021-22 season.

Abdul Ado, a 6-foot-11, 255-pound center from Nigeria who played for the Mississippi State Bulldogs the past four seasons, committed to the Bearcats on Tuesday night in an Instagram post.

The graduate transfer comes to Cincinnati with one year of eligibility remaining.

Ado, who entered the transfer portal after averaging 5.9 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in 33 games – all starts – last season for the Bulldogs, gives the Bearcats much-needed size and even more experience.
