Mike Youkilis, a former Knothole Baseball coach and the father of former Sycamore High School, Cincinnati Bearcats and Major League Baseball standout Kevin Youkilis, died Saturday (July 11) at age 71.
Mike was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School and a University of Cincinnati graduate. He and his wife, Carolyn, owned Midwest Diamond Distributors in Blue Ash (also known as Midwest Gold formerly M&J Grosbard, which sponsored the Knothole team Mike coached).
Mike's legacy.com obituary suggests that in lieu of flowers, those looking to pay tribute can donate to a scholarship that has been set up for a local youth baseball player to attend and play at the UC.
