Memphis Tigers star freshman James Wiseman - considered the potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft - has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA, Memphis attorney Leslie Ballin announced Friday.
Ballin said a judge ruled to put a hold on the NCAA's ruling - pending litigation and allowing Wiseman to play Friday night against Illinois-Chicago. Ballin said Memphis head coach Penny Hardaway helped finance Wiseman's move to Memphis in 2017.
