GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman – Mick Cronin has been waiting on Justin Jenifer to blossom. Ditto University of Cincinnati basketball fans.

Junior point guard Jenifer indeed seems like a new man for the No. 12-ranked Bearcats this season. With UC taking a 3-0 record against Buffalo (2-0) here Monday night in the Cayman Islands Classic, Jenifer is averaging a career-high 11.0 points per game. That, after averaging only 2.4 points as a freshman and 2.8 as a sophomore.

"He wanted to play this year," UC coach Cronin said.
