There was speculation before Mick Cronin even left UC that Northern Kentucky University Norse head coach John Brannen might be a candidate for the Bearcats' head coaching vacancy when Cronin did take another job.
And it didn't take long after UCLA introduced Cronin as its 14th men's basketball head coach for national writers - including Stadium's Jeff Goodman - to report that Brannen is expected to be on Cincinnati's short list to replace Cronin.
