The University of Cincinnati football rushing attack has risen from a long slumber, and Gerrid Doaks is a big reason for that.
Redshirt freshman Doaks rushed 17 times for a career-high 149 yards in last week's 17-16 win at Tulane, which broke a five-game UC losing streak. Doaks had 91 yards the game before that, in a 31-28 overtime loss to SMU.
After struggling much of the year, UC has produced back-to-back games of 200-plus rushing yards. That included 208 last week. After rushing for only eight touchdowns in 2016, UC runners have scored nine times this year.
