From the Video Vault: The Beatles Promoted Hooliganism at the Cincinnati Gardens (1964)

From 1949 until 1954, the UC Bearcats played basketball at the Cincinnati Gardens. For the 1954-1955 season, UC moved back on campus into the Armory Fieldhouse.

The Bearcats returned to the Cincinnati Gardens from 1987 until 1989 while the University was building the Fifth Third Arena.

In between the Bearcats’ two stays at the Cincinnati Gardens, the Beatles played there. For half an hour. On the night of August 27, 1964.

In the latest video from the vault, Judge Benjamin Schwartz of the Cincinnati Juvenile Court made a compelling case that the Beatles were a bunch of moppy haired troublemakers who promoted hooliganism in the fair city of Cincinnati.
